Preparation
- Preheat a griddle or skillet over medium-high heat.
- Form the ground chuck into loose balls, approximately 4-5 ounces each.
Cooking
- Once the griddle is hot, place the balls on it and smash them down with a spatula to form patties.
- Season the patties with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side until a crust forms, then flip the patties.
- Place the thinly sliced onions on top of the burgers and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until the burgers are cooked to your desired doneness.
- Remove the patties from the skillet and spread Baconnaise sauce on the bottom half of each burger bun.
- Place the patty with onions on top of the sauce, then add the top half of the bun.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
Serve these smash burgers hot and fresh. Pair with fries or a salad, and add extra toppings like cheese, lettuce, or pickles as desired. Keep Baconnaise on the side for more flavor.
