  • 1 pound pasta (spaghetti or your choice) Use your preferred pasta type.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Can be substituted with olive oil for a vegan option.
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced Adjust garlic to taste.
  • 1 lemon Zest of, and juice of Freshly squeezed lemon juice works best.
  • Salt and pepper to taste Add according to preference.
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish) For added flavor and presentation.
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (optional) For additional flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  3. Stir in the lemon zest and lemon juice, then season with salt and pepper.
  4. Add the drained pasta to the skillet, and toss to combine.
  5. If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until you reach your desired consistency.
Serving
  1. Serve warm, garnished with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

Best served fresh and warm. Plate directly from the skillet for a family-style meal.
