Ingredients
  

For the crust and filling
  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough 8 ounces each
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 package cream cheese, softened 8 ounces
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the topping
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup additional granulated sugar for topping
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and press it into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth. Spread this cream cheese mixture over the crescent roll dough in the baking dish.
  4. Unroll the second can of crescent roll dough and place it over the cream cheese layer.
  5. Brush the melted butter over the top layer of dough. Mix 1/2 cup granulated sugar with the cinnamon and sprinkle this mixture evenly over the buttered dough.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the bars turn golden brown.
Serving
  1. Allow the bars to cool before slicing them into squares and serving.

Notes

Store any leftover Churro Cheesecake Bars in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze the bars wrapped in plastic wrap and then in aluminum foil for up to 3 months. Make sure to soften the cream cheese for easier mixing and don't skip the cinnamon-sugar topping for added flavor and crunch.
